This outdoor message asks whether we can see the Creator's handiwork all around us, from the code in every cell to the expanding heavens above.

*Title:* The Evidence of Creation — Pastor Kyle Baldwin, April 18, 2026
Worshipping outdoors on a spring Sabbath, Pastor Kyle Baldwin opened with the psalmist’s question: the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork — so can we actually see the evidence of creation all around us? His answer, preached from an outdoor pavilion with the natural world all around the congregation, is yes — if we read nature the right way. Quoting Ellen White, he reminded the congregation that God is the author of science, and that true science, rightly understood, does not uphold skepticism but “contributes fresh evidences of the wisdom and power of God.” Science and Scripture, read together, each shed light on the other.
The sermon then walks through two pieces of evidence. The first is inside every one of us: the DNA in each living cell, a digital code of instructions for building and replicating every part of the body — only two millimeters wide, yet more than six feet long if stretched out. Such organized information always comes from a mind, Pastor Baldwin argued, and the Bible names that mind: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by him” (John 1:1–3). The second is overhead: a century ago scientists discovered the universe is expanding, measured by redshift, yet Isaiah had written thousands of years earlier of the God who “stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain” (Isaiah 40:22). An expanding universe had a beginning, and everything that begins to exist has a cause — God, eternal, the uncaused Cause.
But the sermon is careful not to stop at evidence. Sin has distorted the record, and nature read without God gives mixed signals: the “alpha wolf” proved to be a myth born of captive-wolf studies, and New Zealand kea parrots driven from their fruit trees turned to attacking sheep — until the trees were replanted and the birds returned to their natural diet. “The whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain” (Romans 8:22), yet God can still be seen “if we are willing to look” — for “the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made” (Romans 1:20). The sermon closes with David’s wonder at the night sky (Psalm 8:3–4) and a challenge: God has left His signature in every cell and built the cosmos on the principles of His character, and He loves each of us personally. Will you consider the evidence of creation?
